An alcoholic beverages producer

A distillery has been hard hit by counterfeit goods which clobbered its sales. Well-known brands are as a rule primary targets of pirates. Falsified goods squeeze out authentic articles and undermine consumer confidence. This phenomenon has a very simple explanation: consumers have no way of distinguishing original products from fakes at the point of sale.

To address this problem, the distillery introduced Latentogram®, ATB-made tamper-proof self-adhesive labels. The protective label is put on the cap and is destroyed when the bottle is opened. Thus, the label is used as a seal making it impossible to remove and reuse it.

One year since the label introduction the following results have been attained:

  • no forgeries detected;
  • consumers able to identify original products at retail outlets;
  • sales volume increased.

A flour maker

High-quality flour also attracts the attention of counterfeiters just like any other well-known branded consumer product.

A flour producer invested heavily in ensuring high quality of its output, building up its brand, and winning a devoted following among consumers. To this end, the firm created a unique technology and recipe. The only way for a customer to distinguish one brand of flour from another is distinctive packaging and falsifiers make use of this very feature.

Working to a very tight deadline, the ATB experts created a unique protective label with a latent image for the flour manufacturer. The introduction of this label eliminated forgeries and generated significant savings for the company.

A brewery

The opportunities opened up by the application of Latentogram® and expertise of ATB specialists make it possible to accomplish the most complicated tasks and to find unorthodox solutions.

A beer manufacturer encountered the problem of calculating the exact volume of draught beer sales. It is fairly complicated to identify the content of the beer keg at the point of sale. As a result, the brewer’s premium brands were substituted for cheaper ones. In some cases, they were replaced with those of competitors. These developments triggered a sales decrease.

The beer company contracted ATB to come up with a solution. The ATB experts developed a special tamper-proof protective label for marking beer kegs, which was successfully tested by the producer. A special protective mark containing both the brewer’s logotype and an invisible image is placed on a keg. The mark’s top layer bearing the brewer’s logo undergoes self-destruction if tampered with. However, the latent image remains intact and can be regarded as proof of the product’s originality.

The introduction of the protective label enabled the producer to control every step of the beer distribution in a cost-efficient and hassle-free fashion, put an end to product substitution, stem losses and retain consumers’ trust in the brand.

An underwear producer

Ready-made garments manufacturers face the most acute counterfeit challenges. The emergence of a new and popular brand attracts immediate attention of counterfeiters.

An underwear producer has opted for the application of a latent image on the existing label by means of hot stamping as the most effective method of combating piracy. This method, which can be introduced in a very short period of time, afforded reliable protection against counterfeiting and saved the company the expense of designing a new label.
